One thing that I've noticed in the Paranormal Fantasy genre is the "magical woman" syndrome. Where sometimes theres the central female character and instead of her being a sexual object shes a god pretty much. Where the wish fulfillment doesn't lie between the character and the readers sense of fantasy but rather the central female character and the men around her. Where she somehow embodies or grants the greatest wishes of those around her. The most blatant use of this can be seen in the latest books of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series. Any thoughts?

Canadian thanksgiving is earlier because for us Thanksgiving is about it being the harvest not pilgrims and the harvest took place in October.
And New Years is at the normal time.
