I would suggest Mur's forum, but it gets no more traffic than ours does. I really don't know. Ray Gun Revival has a forum, and it gets a few posts a day.

Re: The forums. I had no idea that the forums were requiring so much time and effort. I probably should have, though, since I only have time to participate in a single forum. I totally understand if you have to make the decision to kill this one, but I would very much like it if yall could offer a recommendation on where to look for a similar online writer's community for baby writers like myself.

*wipes away a dramatic tear*

Thanks for mentioning A. P. Stephens and ConJour in your podcast. I really enjoyed the show. Congratualtions, you've gained a brand new listener.

There does. And, I think forums still have a purpose to serve, but for whatever reason that purpose seems less and less vital to people at large. I'm thinking we'll end up getting of the forums entirely, but I'll give you guys the rest of this month to chime in and let your voice be heard.

Thanks, Bryan.

On the Forums: I don't think its a question of writers not having time to be web-social, its that they already get their fix from twitter and/or facebook. Even a well trafficked message board (I've been on Tad Williams' various boards since about 1996 and have made many friends from it) have faded to almost nothing. It is not a reflection of the host, it's merely an antiquated system of communication. The internet has moved on, with the possible exception of the spammers.

Not many other options, either. Blog comments (like this) still work, though the threads die quickly as new posts appear. Great for show feedback, not for writing discussions. Twitter obviously doesn't work for multiparty discussion. Does seem to be a vaccuum of sorts, doesn't it?
