Episode 20: Genre, What’s It Good For?

Genre – five letters, but a lot of meaning. What does it mean, is it important, and should it impact what you’re writing? Is it the wind beneath your wings or the anvil around your neck? Join us as we discuss it, along with Graham, our long silent cohost from across the pond!

Episode 19 – Jesse Alexander Interview

Join us as we interview special guest Jesse Alexander, writer/producer on hit television shows Alias, Lost, and Heroes. This interview was a very special treat for us, and Jesse was a joy to talk to. Please join us as we talk about writing in Hollywood, and all that that entails. But, if you’re hoping to learn what the smoke monster is or if Nathan is alive or dead, prepare yourself to be disappointed (just like Justin, who really knew better, but had to ask anyway).

Also, if you want to learn more about Jesse, he has a blog and a Facebook page. Below are the links to each:

Facebook

Being the social networking n00b that I am, setting up this Facebook group has been a nightmare, and I still don’t know if I’ve done it correctly. Be that as it may, for those who are interested, please check out this link and tell me what you think. Also, if you are on Facebook, please send a friend invite.

Episode 18 – Letting Go

Letting go is hard to do (as they say), but with a new year dawning we thought it would be a good time to discuss it. We’re letting go of old works that have passed their “Use by” time, and we’re also letting go of expectations that only hold us back.

Short Story Contest Winner Announcement!

Good evening! This post is to let everyone know that the winner of our short story contest is Wine! No, not the beverage, the person! If I had his given name, I’d share it with you, but all I know him by is his email and forum name of Wine. Of all the submissions we received, we thought that his achieved its aims the best, and we had a great time reading it. Great job, Wine! Congrats!

We want to thank everyone who entered the contest, though. All of the short stories we received were read and discussed with zeal, and I can only hope that the next time we decide to do this again or something like it, we can have this level of excitement. You folks made this a big success for us.

Again, congratulations, Wine, on your win! Come back soon, and we will have the short story posted here on the site. Just look to the top of the page for the link once we have it posted.
