It was great that the hosts laid out their writing goals for the New Year. Good luck achieving them in 2011.
First off, welcome Ms. Eliyanna, it’s lovely to have you on the show. 🙂 Secondly, good luck to Terry with all your writing goals! They’re ambitious and crazy and therefore they get a big fat thumbs up in my book. I will keep you honest (also see: nag the crap out of you) on FB and Twitter all you like, if it helps. =D And lastly, I really wanted to say I found the discussion on motivating yourself to work outside of a work environment very enlightening. I’ve been having a lot of the same difficulties since I quit my job 8 months ago…I thought that it would be so easy to devote my spare time to all the things I wanted to get done: writing, cooking, learning to become a seamstress, etc. But the reality is I spend most of my days lounging around, playing video games. Without that outside force to fight against, as was so aptly put, it really is a lot more difficult to get things done. You have to motivate yourself, instead of letting someone else do it for you. It’s tough, and it’s taken me awhile learn how to deal with it. So thanks for discussing it; I think it’s a very important lesson for anyone wanting to do something by themselves from home.
