I’m from Sweden and when writing in internet forums in English I sometimes use “se” rather than he/she when I referring to someone whose gender I don’t know. This is just a word I made up for myself and I’m not sure anyone else gets it but if I ever wrote a book I might try using it as a genderless pronoun.
